Dr. Sue Ann Painter serves as the Executive Director of the West Virginia Board of Registered Nurses, where she provides strategic leadership and regulatory oversight for nursing practice across the state. With an extensive background in healthcare administration, she previously held executive roles including Vice President of Nursing at Thomas Health System and Chief Nursing Officer at multiple West Virginia hospitals. Dr. Painter earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky and has contributed to the profession as a faculty member for both BSN and DNP programs. Her commitment to the nursing community is further reflected in her service on the Board of Directors for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. She remains dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of nursing care and safety for all West Virginians.
