All electronic forms for Registered Nurses, APRNs, Prescriptive Authority, Dialysis Technicians, and Telehealth Registrations are managed securely through the online Nurse Portal.

Available Services in the Portal

Paper applications have been completely replaced by electronic forms. Log in or create your Nurse Portal account to complete any of the following tasks:

Licensure Applications

Submit initial applications for Licensure by Examination or Endorsement from another state.

Renewals & Reinstatements

Renew your active license during open renewal seasons or submit a reinstatement for a lapsed license.

Profile & Name Changes

Keep your record up to date by submitting legal name changes, address updates, or contact information.

Prescriptive Authority

Apply for initial prescriptive authority, add/dissolve Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPA), or process changes.

📩 Board Communications & Message Center

All official communications between applicants/licensees and the Board take place through the secure Message Center inside your Nurse Portal account.

  • In-Progress Applications: If you have an application pending, check your Message Center periodically for requests for follow-up documentation or status updates.
  • Contacting the Board: To send a secure message or inquiry to Board staff, please submit your message directly through the Message Center.
  • Email Notifications: While the system generates email alerts when a new message arrives, email delivery is not 100% reliable due to spam filters. Please log into the portal directly to verify updates.

🔔 Important Notice: Nurses with e-Notify

The e-Notify system automatically sends notices 30, 60, and 90 days prior to the end of a renewal window (including automated notices sent on April 1). Please note that West Virginia renewal windows open strictly on their designated statutory dates (e.g., RN renewals begin May 1). If you receive an automated email prior to the official opening date, please disregard it until the window officially opens.
