⚠️ Important Note for APRN License Holders
Your APRN license depends directly on maintaining an active RN license—either a West Virginia RN license or an active multistate RN license from a Compact state. If your underlying RN license lapses or becomes invalid, your APRN license and Prescriptive Authority will automatically lapse as well, regardless of the APRN odd-year renewal schedule. If you change your RN license to another state, please notify the Board via the Message Center with the subject "APRN".
🔔 e-Notify Automated Notices
Nurses subscribed to e-Notify receive automated messages 30, 60, and 90 days before renewal deadlines. Automated notices sent on April 1 are system-generated; official West Virginia renewal windows open strictly on May 1. Please disregard early notices until the portal officially opens.
Need Help or Checking Your Status?
- Verify your license status to check your current expiration dates.
- If your renewal window has closed and your license has lapsed, submit a Reinstatement Application in the Nurse Portal.
- Review past non-renewals on our Lapsed License Reports page.
